Thoroughbred racehorses aren’t high on my list of interests. I only picked up this book because of the great writing Hillenbrand had done with “Unbroken…”. This book is the only other she’s written and it is clear that she takes her time, does her research and turns great history into captivating stories. It is no wonder the movie based on her book was nominated for a best picture Oscar.
“Seabiscuit” helps today’s Americans learn how our (great)grandparents’ lives were shaped and how an unlikely champion racehorse could inspire in an era of economic hardship.
