King and Maxwell
by David Baldacci

Having tried a number of new authors recently, and being universally disappointed, I decided it was time to return to one of my favorites, David Baldacci. Then, I recognized this title as a series we’d enjoyed on the TNT network last summer, following their hit Major Crimes. The show was cancelled after ten episodes, but not because of any problems with this book on which the show was based.

Baldacci has yet to disappoint me, and this book was an absolute page-turner of pure escapism. The plot is a bit over-the-top, but everything that takes place seems reasonably plausible … unlikely for sure … but possible nonetheless. This is a quality effort by Baldacci and I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, the Kindle Whispersync technology that coordinates my reading with my listening of their books failed miserably. It may be because I’m using the Kindle App on my iPad rather than carrying my actual Kindle Paperwhite.
