As Marshawn Lynch so eloquently put it, “football is a team sport”. I thought it would be interesting to read the biography of someone who had a successful NFL career but never attained celebrity status. While I’ve never been a big Denver Broncos fan, I did recognize the name Nate Jackson as one of their receivers.

This former football player can actually write. His story was interesting, but not so captivating that I could not put it down in favor of other material. Maybe I already had a fair idea of what happens behind the scenes in the NFL to “average” players.

In a nutshell, it chews them up until they no longer function and then they move on. This is Jackson’s story of his high points and how he handled being fodder for the sport.

This book gets a small F bomb flag for occasional crudeness – maybe that’s to be expected from today’s professional athletes.
