Nate & Sarah Make a Good Team – Vlog

Both sets of Nate’s grandparents raised his parents with a depression-era mindset. Nate remembers darning his socks as a kid. It’s just what they did.

They saved almost everything, from the paper bags in which he carried his lunch to school to the toys and clothes he outgrew.

None of his friends’ families were such tightwads.

So Nate got a job as soon as he could, and started spending his earnings on the things he thought he needed.

Dad insisted that he put aside the first 25% of anything he earned, or he wouldn’t allow him to keep the job. That money got used to pay for his college during the semesters he goofed off and didn’t accomplish the GPA at which dad agreed to reimburse the expenses.

Finally out from under their roof, on his own after college, he went on a spending spree. He had all the latest stuff. Always.
