Death of a Family Member – Vlog

Sarah died.

It wasn’t supposed to happen this way. She was supposed to outlive Nate. That’s what they figured would happen, and all the evidence supported that notion.

Sarah took good care of herself, Nate, not so much.

But there you have it, she’s gone and he’s on his own.

Life isn’t always fair. Often it’s unfair. And no one is promised tomorrow.

Sarah kept Nate connected with the kids and grandkids. He’s a good father and grandfather, it’s just he doesn’t have that natural instinct for small-talk and the gossip that they always had with Sarah.

He’d rather play catch, go for a hike, or take the kids to the park than sit and play board games.

She arranged all the family meetups; all he need do was appear.

What about Christmas presents? Oh. My. Gosh. Sarah had every gift figured out before Halloween, bought before Thanksgiving, and wrapped shortly after Nate got the tree up on Black Friday weekend.

Teamwork can transform a good relationship into a great family.

And while we’re a family-run business, we’re working as a team, recognizing the differing strengths of each member.

Now, no one can replace the loss of a life-time partner like Sarah, but our team knew them well enough that we were able to provide real-time support when Nate most needed it.

If your advisor doesn’t ask about your kids and their well-being, give us a call, because that’s central to how we pace our clients through life’s crossroads and financial milestones.

Gotta run!
